Teaching

Courses taught

I teach classes in international security and national security policy, technology and war, and US foreign policy. My courses are generally a mix of discussion and lecture, and get students interested and engaged with the materials through active-learning exercises and simulations. The articles to the right describe some of the activities I developed for my classes. Email me for a copy of any of my course syllabi or activities I use in the classroom!

I am interested in working with MA/MPP, honors thesis, and research students who want to study the arms trade, civil-military relations, and US defense policy. Many of my prior research students have had the opportunity to co-author research and/or policy publications with me.
